My Primary Roles at Northside:
I have the great honor of sharing the work that goes on at Northside with the broader community.
Most Memorable Moment at Northside:
That is really hard. I’ve been here for 17 years so my collection of great memories is quite big. I would say teaching an entomology class for two and three year olds was one of my favorite..
Since You Asked, Here’s What I’m Most Proud Of As An Educator:
Genuinely respecting every child’s personality and differences. Working with colleagues who do the same is rare and that is why I’m so proud of Northside.
Favorite Job Perk:
Meeting new families from the neighborhood, from all over the country and from abroad. Their stories are all so different but the heart of these stories all beat the same. We all want the best for our children and for the future.
What I Wanted To Be When I Grew Up (At Age 10):
A teacher, I’ve always wanted to be a teacher.
What I Want To Be When I Grow Up (Now):
Still a teacher, but now I’m teaching parents all about Northside, and I love it.
When Not In The Classroom I Can Be Found:
Playing with my five year old twin girls or swimming.
I Knew I Wanted To Work At Northside When:
We wrote our core values. Over a decade ago we did this and they are just as relevant now as they were when we wrote them.
Everything that comes from the sea
