Since You Asked, Here’s What I’m Most Proud of As an Educator:

I’m incredibly proud knowing that over a nearly twenty-five-year career in education I have helped students to find their path (even when it was truly difficult), to figure out their passions and pursue their dreams. I’ve never given up on a student and have helped students to not give up on themselves.

Favorite Job Perk:

Being surrounded by curious kids – youth and enthusiasm, keeps one forever young!

Between You and Me (Hardly Anyone Knows That):

I was born on Super Bowl VI (Cowboys played the Dolphins), and I’ve secretly always wanted to learn how to throw a football. It’s on my to-do list to learn how to throw a proper spiral.

What I Wanted to Be When I Grew Up (At Age 10):

A pediatrician, but I soon discovered that blood and guts makes me a bit queasy.

What I Want to Be When I Grow Up (Now):

A children’s book author

When Not in The Classroom I Can Be Found:

in our amazing library

Favorite Place in The Neighborhood:

I’m still exploring!

Favorite Place in The World:

Hands down, Barcelona

Favorite Place in My Imagination:

A field of wildflowers in the spring

My Desert Island EDC (The handful of things you cannot live without):

A small notebook and pen for doodling and brainstorming, my charm bracelet

I Knew I Wanted to Work at Northside When:

I visited and read the messages on the Wall of Love left by students, parents, faculty and staff celebrating and thanking each other.

I Am an Educator Because:

The moment when a student suddenly understands something, when it all comes together and clicks, is pure magic! To be able to not only witness those “a-ha moments” but also be responsible for helping to create them makes being an educator the greatest job in the world!

Secret Dream Job:

Food and Travel Writer

If I Weren’t in The Classroom, I’d Be:

Chatting with friends at an outside café on the coast or in one of the world’s great capitals
