Greetings, Northside families! As this will be the final blog of the school year, I would like to thank you for reading along on all of our adventures. I hope you’ll tune in again next fall for more updates from our Preschool, Lower School, and Middle School divisions! And speaking of Middle School, I’d like to share with you a few very special events held this week to celebrate next fall’s opening.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held the 7th floor, where our new 5th and 6th grade english, math, and history classrooms will be located. Our 5th graders got to wield the giant scissors to snip the ribbon, check out their new desks, and unwrap school-themed swag. Then they escorted our 4th grade class into the new spaces and welcomed them with cheers and more swag. Finally, we headed up to the 8th floor to see the new art studio and science lab – and of course, lockers!
In the evening, parents and teachers were invited for a Moving Up ceremony. The students heard from Elie; our Head of School, Nicole; Director of Teaching and Learning, and their homeroom teachers from 4th and 5th grade, Ashley and Michaelle. Each student received a certificate of scholarship to commemorate their achievements this year.
Then it was good-bye parents, hello party! All of our rising middle schoolers enjoyed a dance party with music, lights and snacks – a great way to celebrate the beginning of summer and share their excitement for the year to come!
