We are happy to introduce Nicole Esposito! Nicole is the Head Teacher of the Rainbowfish, a 2-year-old classroom at our Preschool. Nicole has been teaching for nearly a decade, seven of which have been at Williamsburg Northside. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Touro College, where she is currently pursuing a dual Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. Nicole lives in the Bensonhurst neighborhood of Brooklyn with her husband and her son, Rocco. When she isn’t teaching, Nicole loves to cook with her family, and take them on weekend trips to the zoo, Frenchtown NJ, and the Coney Island boardwalk.
Nicole’s approach to early childhood education is inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia, and she views children as active authors of their own development. Under Nicole’s expert guidance, curriculum grows organically from open dialogue and collaboration with families and children, as she and her teaching team foster a passion for exploration, nurturing relationships, and community. She also establishes clear and supportive routines to ease young children’s transition into the school environment, and to promote independence and cooperative learning. Children in the Rainbowfish classroom actively engage in the construction of their own knowledge while the classroom team supports each child in learning to take appropriate risks, efficiently express themselves, and develop a sense of autonomy. Nicole creates a warm and welcoming an environment where children have the opportunity to grow both socially and emotionally through investigations into their personal interests and the natural world.
