The faculty of Williamsburg Northside’s Infant and Toddler Center is made up of a talented and dedicated group of men and women. Each classroom has one Head Teacher and two-to-three Co-Teachers, depending on the size of the class. The Head Teacher has a minimum of an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. The Co-Teachers all have extensive experience working with children in the infant and toddler years. We value a diverse community of teachers and celebrate their individual styles. All of our teachers highly value their dual role of caregiver and educator. Each teaching team collaborates to create a nurturing, joyful and stimulating environment that meets the specific needs of our young learners.
In addition to classroom teachers, we also have an art teacher and music teacher who provide enrichment programming for our students. These specialists are experienced in their given areas of expertise and work closely with classroom teachers to ensure that their work complements and enhances the classroom study.
Our teachers are carefully selected based on experience, education, and dedication to a progressive and collaborative approach to education. We share a common vision that is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to learning and is rooted in the respect of young children. Our teachers are lifelong learners themselves, always seeking opportunities to extend their knowledge of educational philosophy and best practices, taking time to reflect on their own performance, and offering feedback to each other throughout the year.
To support the faculty and families in our school, there are many talented administrative and support personnel who are equally invested in the success of our children. To echo and build upon the collaboration that is demonstrated by the teaching teams, the support staff works directly with the faculty to provide interconnected services to our students and families.
