At Williamsburg Northside, we believe that a strong home-school connection is the bedrock upon which our learning community is built. We view parents as a child’s first teacher and value your participation in a variety of events throughout the year such as Back to School Night, Parent-Teacher Conferences, Project Work shares and subject-specific events in the Lower School like Gallery Night, the Spring Music Concert, and the Science Fair.
In fact, many times throughout the year, we ask for your help and support – to meet with us to discuss your child’s progress, to bring in donations of recycled materials or canned goods, to come into the classroom and share your professional talents – and to thank you, each year we host a Family Breakfast across all of our programs. Mothers, fathers, stepparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, beloved nannies and babysitters, closer family friends and anyone else whom the child might consider family are encouraged to join us. Our goal is to welcome all family members into this celebration, so that each one will feel appreciated and know that they play an important role in the learning of development of the special child in their life. Students, parents and teachers share a delicious breakfast, catch up with one another, and often share recent work the students have completed. Thank you for joining us, and thank you for all that you do!
