Greetings Williamsburg Northside Community,
At Northside, we believe that academics and athletics are co-curricular. Being a member of an athletic team provides ample learning opportunities, just as the classroom does, so we challenge our student-athletes to learn equally in both environments. We view the field as an extension of the classroom. Many of Northside’s Core Values will be emphasized throughout their experience, especially that of collaboration, resilience, and compassion. They will also experience concepts such as leadership, confidence, integrity, communication, time management, and respect as we look to develop character amongst our athletes.
Additionally, we aim to introduce our students to a variety of sports so they can become more well rounded athletes and better people. This will be accomplished by teaching sport-specific skills designed to encourage learning and to emphasize the ‘why’ in the decision making process. Ultimately, the Athletics program will be a cornerstone of the Williamsburg Northside educational experience as we encourage them to develop a lifelong appreciation for sport and a healthy lifestyle.
We look forward to working towards these goals throughout the year.
