Admissions
We invite you to join the Northside community, one that embraces and encourages life-long learning, and knows that the pathway to exemplary student success should never be separated from the one that leads to a fulfilled adult.
This page is designed to help you and your family find the resources and tools you need to apply to Northside. Given the global pandemic, our admissions process will look slightly different than in ordinary times, but meeting with and getting to know your child and your family as unique individuals are the most important parts of our process. Admission is based on parent conversations, children’s assessments, and a child’s academic and social potential. To further demonstrate our commitment toward greater accessibility, inclusivity, equity, and a holistic application review, we will not require the ISEE or SSAT as part of the application process for the 2021-2022 school year.

TAKE THE CHARACTER SKILLS SNAPSHOT
*For Grades 6 through 8 only
The Character Skills Snapshot, allows us the ability to learn even more about applicants; specifically, seven character skills that were selected for their connection to future success in school, work, and life. We believe that students should be evaluated in a more holistic way that includes more personal elements in addition to the traditional elements of an application.
VIRTUAL CLASSROOM VISIT AND STUDENT ASSESSMENT
Once an application is complete, our Director of Admissions will reach out to arrange a time for your child to meet with us virtually for a classroom visit and student assessment. The first 15 minutes of your child’s assessment will provide them with an opportunity to see our student-centered inquiry approach to learning in action and connect with our students. The assessment portion is a chance for us to observe your child’s development in reading, writing, and math. Please allow an hour and a half for both.
*Complete means ALL steps above are finished, and each application step is checked with a green checkmark within Ravenna Hub.
