Assistant Teacher (Infants and Toddlers)

Williamsburg Northside School’s Infant and Toddler Center is seeking talented full time and part time Assistant Teachers for the 2016-2017 school year. Williamsburg Northside is a Reggio Emilia inspired educational community serving children from 3 months- Grade 5. New staff members join a team of dedicated educators and passionate children and families.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or matriculating in an Associates or Bachelor’s degree program in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Experience working with children ranging in age from 3 months- 3 years of age
  • Experience in a classroom setting

The ideal candidate will:

  • Find joy in working with children
  • Be interested in education as a career
  • Have knowledge of and passion for the Reggio Emilia Approach
  • Have knowledge of Project Based Learning
  • Possess positive classroom management skills

Assistant Teacher - Kindergarten

Williamsburg Northside Schools has an immediate opening for an Assistant Teacher for remainder of the 2016-2017 school year. This Lower School position is full time. This position involves work with children in our Kindergarten classes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s degree or matriculating in a Master’s degree program in a related field preferred

Lower School Learning Specialist

Williamsburg Northside Schools is seeking an experienced Learning Specialist for a maternity leave beginning March 23rd, 2017 until the end of school year in June. This Lower School position is full time. Williamsburg Northside’s Lower School is a Reggio Emilia inspired educational community serving children from Prekindergarten- 5th Grade. New staff members join a team of dedicated educators and passionate children and families.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Special Education
  • Training and experience multi-sensory intervention practices
  • Related experience

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have extensive knowledge of intervention strategies to support a wide range of learners including, but not limited to, Orton Gillingham
  • Be familiar with Investigations (Terc) mathematics and Fountas & Pinnell (balanced literacy) curriculums
  • Have experience with the ERB/CTP
    • be able toffer strategies for test taking
    • be able to administer and manage results data
  • Have knowledge of the Reggio Emilia Approach
  • Have knowledge of Project Based Learning
  • Be familiar with Social Emotional Learning curriculums
  • Serve on the Student Support Team with other support staff and administrators
  • Possess positive classroom management skills
  • Maintain a beautiful workspace with documented learning visible throughout
  • Be able to collaborate with colleagues
    • Deliver professional development to staff on topics related to student support
  • Be able to collaborate with parents
    • Deliver workshops on a variety of topics related to student learning
  • Take pride in professional, polished written and verbal communication
  • Be flexible and posses a sense of humor
