Williamsburg Northside Schools is comprised of three engaging divisions serving students ages 3 months through 11 years old. The Infant & Toddler Center (3 mos.- 2 years), The Preschool (2- 4 years), and The Lower School (Prekindergarten- 5th Grade). In the fall of 2018 we will expand to serve students through 14 years old as the middle school division opens at our 299 North 7th Street location.

Assistant Teacher (Infants and Toddlers)

Williamsburg Northside School’s Infant and Toddler Center is seeking talented full time and part time Assistant Teachers for the 2016-2017 school year. Williamsburg Northside is a Reggio Emilia inspired educational community serving children from 3 months- Grade 5. New staff members join a team of dedicated educators and passionate children and families.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or matriculating in an Associates or Bachelor’s degree program in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Experience working with children ranging in age from 3 months- 3 years of age
  • Experience in a classroom setting

Head Teacher (2¹s Class) ­ Maternity Leave

Williamsburg Northside Schools is seeking an experienced Head Teacher for a maternity leave beginning mid-March, 2017 until the end of the school year in June. This Preschool position is full time. Williamsburg Northside is a Reggio Emilia inspired educational community serving children from 3 months- Grade 5. New staff members join a team of dedicated educators and passionate children and families.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or matriculating in a Master’s degree program in ECE
  • New York State Early Childhood Certification or on a plan towards certification
  • Teaching experience
  • Experience with 2 and 3 year olds

The ideal candidate will:

  • Find joy in working with young children
  • Be familiar with developmentally appropriate instructional practices
  • Have experience in and passion for the Reggio Emilia Approach
  • Have knowledge of Project Based Learning and experience constructing an emergent curriculum
  • Possess positive classroom management skills
  • Be able to meet the diverse needs of all of his/her students
  • Maintain a beautiful classroom with documented learning visible throughout based on the idea of the environment as the third teacher
